Tea. DIY.

Life is sometimes unexpected as we all know,
when my mind doesn't want to comprehend our human complexities
I rely on nature and her warmth to ground me.

Some of my most simple pleasures have been found in what the earth can give me.
Recently it's chamomile tea.
My grandpa used to grow these little beauties, dry and steep them over hot water.
Chamomile can be paired with mint and even lavender.
It's delightful, faint in flavor and oh-so-refreshing.

a walk through the wild woods.

"NO. I'M NOT GETTING INTO THE BACK PACK."
"That's fine, you can walk up the mountain on your own." We told her
"NO. I DON'T WANT TO WALK. AND I DONT LIKE MY SHOES."
"Ok, you can crawl barefoot up the hill."

(Insert screaming for 15 minutes as trekked up the treelined coastal hike)

As the screaming continued we ran into other "pursuers of nature" who were also trying to enjoy the warmth of the sun, the crisp air and the beautiful scenery . As our paths crossed we exchanged  eye contact and uneasy smiles to the ear piercing sound of our red faced screaming 3 year old; one of the strangers said, "We thought we heard a mountain lion. We didn't think she was so close."

Oh, my little mountain lion in all her fury.
